Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in our choice of fabric in our products. Careful thought into the environmental impact of materials as well as the durability and longevity has influenced our selection.

  • Limestone neoprene

We use the highest quality limestone neoprene from Yamamoto. The purest limestone from Mt Kurohime is manufactured into chloroprene rubber (CR) neoprene by Yamamoto who power their factories and offices with 100% renewable energy.

Although not perfect from an environmental standpoint, limestone CR neoprene remains far superior to petroleum neoprene. Limestone CR neoprene has excellent weather resistance, stretch and durability which is why we have partnered with Yamamoto to develop our first wetsuit.

We chose a material which balances performance with durability - one of the key ways to reduce your impact is by using a wetsuit which stands the test of time.

  • Organic cotton

Grown on Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified farms in the Aegean region of Turkey, our organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers to produce a higher quality cotton and reduce environmental impact.

Our cotton goes from farm to yarn to t-shirt in the same region before being shipped to the UK by sea and road. Organic cotton is soft resulting in a comfortable, lightweight, breathable garment.

  • Wool

Our responsibly sourced wool comes from free-roaming sheep on the fells and downs of the British Isles.

It's 100% natural. Fleece grown by British sheep, raised on a diet of grass, water, and sunshine, is sheared each year in the spring keeping the sheep healthy and cool. The fleece is then worsted spun to produce yarn.

Treated correctly, our wool garments will last a lifetime and at the end of it's life it is 100% biodegradable decomposing in a matter of years returning valuable nutrients to the soil.

Wool is awesome - when it's wet, it still keeps you warm.

  • Plant based jersey

Our wetsuit lining is a blend of nylon (73%) and plant based nylon (27%) yarns which produces a beautifully soft and stretchy jersey lining.

Nylon is much more durable than recycled linings and although the lining is not wholly plant based, we feel this choice is a step in the right direction, striking the balance of longevity and durability of our wetsuits with consideration for the environment.

  • Packaging

Everything you order from us will be delivered in fully recyclable paper and card packaging. All of it can be recycled in UK domestic recycling or composted at home .

All of our packaging is made in the UK from FSC certified paper and card from recycled and sustainable sources.

As we get started, some of our suppliers will be using plastic packaging to send our orders to the UK. Paper alone can't protect the wetsuits on a long sea freight journey from Thailand. We will be ensuring we recycle this and we are committed to eliminating this from our packaging as soon as we are able to.
